How these blocks work with the Shopify cart drawer, theme app embeds, and automatic discounts.
Why don’t I see the free shipping / discount bar in my cart?
Two things must both be on: the feature enabled and saved in the app settings, and the theme App embed → Free shipping & discount bar turned on. If either is off, or you haven’t saved, the bar won’t show. Use the settings link to open the theme editor and confirm the embed is enabled for the live theme.
What do the rewards on the bar actually do at checkout?
They create automatic discounts in Shopify (not discount codes). When the cart reaches a threshold, shoppers get that reward at checkout — for example free shipping and/or a percentage off. Among percentage tiers, the highest unlocked % applies. Free shipping can apply together with that percentage discount as configured by the app.
I see discounts named “upcartaov — … (do not delete)” in Shopify Admin. Can I remove them?
Don’t delete them. They’re the automatic discounts that power the bar. Shoppers typically don’t see that internal title. If one is deleted, saving shipping-bar settings again can recreate it, but leaving them alone avoids checkout gaps.
Can I change the order of Free shipping / 10% off / 15% off?
No. Discount reward types stay in that order. You only change spend amounts and whether each is shown on the bar. The optional free gift is the one you can move between slots.
Why won’t my spend amounts save?
Visible rewards must have spend amounts that increase down the list (at least 1 unit apart in your currency). If a lower reward is cheaper than (or equal to) the one above, the app blocks save until you fix it. Turning Show on bar off hides a reward without clearing its amount.
Will this stack with my other Shopify discount codes?
Shopify may still combine eligible discounts. If you want only the app’s bar rewards, remove or restrict other discount codes in Shopify Admin. The app shows this note in settings for that reason.
How does the free gift on the bar work?
Turn the gift on, pick a product or variant, set an unlock amount higher than the gift’s price, then save. When the cart reaches that amount, the gift is added automatically; if the cart drops below, it’s removed. With the gift off, it won’t appear on the bar or auto-add.
Why does the progress bar sit in the scrolling part of the cart (not stuck under the header)?
By design it mounts inside the drawer’s scrollable item area so it scrolls with cart contents across themes — not fixed under the title and close chrome. If the cart is empty, the bar stays hidden.
I changed Appearance colors in settings — why doesn’t the storefront match yet?
Appearance (solid or gradient background, text, border, progress line, unlocked dots, reset) only goes live after you save, and only when that feature is available on the theme that has the embed. Unlocked-dot colors apply when a reward is unlocked, not while it’s still locked (locked dots stay light). Unsaved drafts only update the admin preview.
How do I turn on shipping protection, and what product does it create?
Enable it in app settings, save, and turn on App embed → Shipping protection. Saving creates or maintains an Unlisted “Shipping Protection” product at the fee you set (default based on your shop currency, often 5.00). Shoppers opt in with the cart-drawer toggle. You can optionally set a policy URL for the info icon.
